Every magazine has similarities and there own differences from one and another but they all have a very centralized and common theme which is information. all of them show you something they show you something important enough to be the cover and they tell you something imporatn giving you information but not enough to were you know everything only enough to where you keep reading to find out everything.

Blog #3 -- My Favorite Cover

YouTube breaks the barrier between the audience and the creator,” Kjellberg explains, in assessing the reason why he’s so popular. “They feel a connection to the one they’re watching. It’s almost like you’re hanging out.”

This cover is very artistic it shows not that much but it catches your eye and peeks your curiosity. it also is very different from all other instead of right up close its farther away still showing him but its almost as if he's bursting through some wall of barrier and is being marked off by everyone but still manages to be number one and looks like he is working hard to succeed.

Love and loss

Love and Loss

The pictures on the site were all breath taking, the pictures made me feel happy and sad. There were pictures of the husband and wife being happy but there was a picture of the empty bed that was sad.
"These photographs do not define us, but they are us." To me I think this quote is that the photos were mostly about her sickness and that her cancer and the tragedy that happened to him is not what defines them but something that happened to them and it's who they are.
I believe I could only shoot some of the photos in the pictures shown, although some of the photos were personal and it would be hard to shoot something like that.
If I could write a letter to Angelo I would write something like how much strength it took to take photos like that, that were absolutely breath taking.

american solider

american soldier

1. The most powerful image to me I think is the one of Ian and his army buddies sitting on a bed hugging. I think that's the most powerful because I forget that they make friends in the army and that when they go into war, they are risking their lives and you might lose your friend. You never know if that'll be your last goodbye.

2.
set 1-at home- image 1 to image 3
set 2-basic training- image 4 to image 13
set3-Iraq- image 14 to image 27
image 28- back home

3. The set of image that I find the most powerful is the one in basic training because you can see him transform. You can see him go from the way he was back home in Denver to him transforming into a soldier, in a completely different environment and turning into a completely different person. You can se him preparing for what is coming.

4. The images work to tell a story by showing where he starts in the beginning, back at home getting ready to go to the army, to him going to the training. In the training you get to watch him transform and get ready to go to Iraq. The next part of the story is seeing him Iraq and you get to see that his training is put to the test and you see him do what he was trained for, then after all that you get to see him go home.

5. The verbs are in past tense

Africa and abondedned theme parks

  1. On your blog post your reactions to what you read and what you saw. How about 3-4 sentences.
this picture made me feel so free. its just breathtaking to look at its nature at its finest. it shows the freedom and the beautinells of lions and nature.
2. Do a google image search for Nick Brandt, find your favorite photo and post it on your blog.

3. Describe it and tell me why its your favorite.
Its so amazing it makes me want to go take something like it
4. What rules of photography are evident in the photos you selected, be sure to explain the rule to me?

Do a google/wikipedia search for Nick Brandt

5. What kind of camera and lens does he use and why is this important?
one with a black and white filter and a very good zoomed in one as not to disturb the animal
6. What is his reason for taking these photos?
To show how amazing nature is
7. What is his hope by taking these type of photos?
to show the dispaering workd of nature
8. Find something he has to say about Africa, and post the quote on your blog.

I want my images to achieve two things in this regard - to be an elegy to a world that is tragically vanishing, to make people see what beauty is disappearing. Also, to try and show that animals are sentient creatures equally as worthy of life as humans.

1.
The abandoned theme park that I would want to go take pictures at is Takakanonuma Greenland, Hobara, Japan. I chose this one because there are still many rides visible, but they are all rusted. Being rundown and rusty would give an interesting rustic/antique look to the photos. Also, there is a lot of lush vegetation and fog that could add a beautiful effect to all of the images.

2.

3.
Other unusual places that might be interesting for photographers to shoot at would be:
  • Plitvice Lakes National Park
  • The Crystal Mill
  • USA’s Largest Abandoned Subway is in Cincinnati
  • 102-Year-Old Floating Forest in Sydney, Australia
  • Pripyat, Ukraine

4.
102-Year-Old Floating Forest in Sydney, Australia

5.
I chose this place because the scenery in beautiful, and a forrest growing on an abandoned ship is a neat concept. I would definitely take somewhat distant pictures to capture the surrounding water, trees, and the entire ship.

6.
To shoot these photos I would need to travel to Sydney Australia. To do this, I would need to buy a $1000 ticket, pack my bags, and take a 17 hour flight to Sydney. I am not sure about the rules of going out to the water to get closer pictures, but I would try to canoe or take some kind of boat to get out on the lake.

Funny captions

Ms Johnson a 69 year old woman of Chicago Illinois was rocking a very fashionable bright yellow shirt proclaiming her feelings towards everyone on this oct 9. Ms johnson is a local and has been sporting this shirt around town the past few weeks.

Bernice and susan just wanted a nice beach side view but when the tide decided to roll in on them they were trapped in a hilarious fashion stranded but still calm and happy as can be. They said they didn't mind and this had been the highlight of the last ten years.

Mr and ms smith went downtown outraged by taxes and wanted to protest against the unfair government but on the way had a change of mind more or less. Mr smith decided he didn't have enough time to care about taxes because he was thirsty for a cold one.

Aperture, Shutter Speed, and ISO - What Are They?

APERTURE

Aperture is the amount of light that a camera takes in. Modifying the aperture on the camera's settings can create dimension in the photo or bring everything in the frame into focus.

A lower aperture, like the one below at F2.8, will blur out the background and add dimension.

higher aperture, like the one below at F16, will bring everything in the frame into focus.

1. Aperture is modeled after the pupil in the iris of an eye. Like a pupil, which takes in light to create an image, the aperture lens takes in a certain amount of light to modify the dimension in the photo.

2. The smaller the aperture number, the higher the aperture.

3. Aperture affects the Depth of Field because using a smaller aperture  can create dimension by blurring out the background and bringing one particular subject into focus.

SHUTTER SPEED

Shutter speed, also commonly known as exposure time, is the length of time that the camera shutter is open to allow light in.

Higher shutter speed will "freeze" a moment in time.

Slow shutter speed will create an effect known as "motion blur" and blur objects in motion. This effect is commonly used at night to catch trails of lights over a lengthy period of time.

"Towards the end when there is no sun and has gotten dark enough that you can't see from one end of the courtyard to the other."

e. Low
f. Low

2. Three settings the camera has regarding shutter speed are ManualAperture Priority, and Shutter PriorityManual sets the aperture and shutter speed manually. Aperture Priority allows the photographer to set the aperture and the camera will automatically set the shutter speed. Shutter Priority allows the photographer to set the shutter sped and the camera will set the aperture automatically.

ISO

ISO is the level of the camera's sensitivity to light.

The lower an ISO number is, the less sensitive it is to light. The picture below was taken at ISO 200.

The higher an ISO number is, the more sensitive it is to light. The picture below was taken at ISO 3200.

1. Shooting at a high ISO  can capture an image in a low-light environment like at a night football game. As a result however, the picture will be more grainy.

2. The author suggested to use a low ISO when there is plenty of available light so that the best quality image can be captured. Occasionally a low ISO can be used in lower light if the camera is sitting on a sturdy surface like on a tripod or a flat surface.

2. The author suggested to use high ISO when there is too little light for the camera to properly capture an image. A high ISO can also be used to capture speedy shots of an object moving very fast.

Favorite photo acadeimc

The one were the kid is poring two different liquids into a beaker to make purple liquid is my favorite.

1.) I thought this photo to me really represented what high school is in my imagination when i think of high school i imagine science experiments beakers and crazy liquids not long test and boring things like the other ones show.
2.)Framing the liquids draw a frame to the kids focused face and also simplicity everything is perfectly in a good angle and shows his concentration.

1.) my science classroom because i already know there is weird liquids in beakers
2.) my span isn room my science room mr stumpers room because there will indefinitely be activity in the room and i won't make a large disturbance in there
3.)Im gonna look at the best photos thin about angles and the ways i could make the photos look better and remember the rules of photography and take a lot of pictures so i can take the best of the best.

Unethical photos

1.) In the main photos there has been a lot of unethical unnecessary changes to simple photos. Most of them are just regular photos and the reasons they have been altered escapes my mind other than for self purposes. I think all of these are unethical but the worst is the one with the woman altered out.
i think its unelectable and unethical because the hoots were taken to display what the photo show if you wanted to display what was created out of them you should take a different picture.

2.)

The one of sadum and bush and the one of the solider was the most unethical to me. The one of bush and sudam is unethical to me because most people should already know tho is fake and its almost pointless to create because its just dumb picture and also doesn't even look realistic. the one of the solider is unethical because it just changes a simple image and is i my option a corrupt thing to to it changes the image to make the solider to look bad.
 3.)
i think these are the most non unethical photos because although they aren't very dumb in general which they are out of all of them they are the least worst. the one of Oprah is just silly and doesn't have a really negative affect on anyone so its not that bad the one of oj simeon isn't that bad either because they kept the truth of the photo in  it and changed it only slightly.
